Ron Rivera & Washington Football Team

The Washington Football Team has handled adversity better than any team in the NFL this year. They started the year under a spotlight because of their name change and now they face the GOAT in the first round of the playoffs. They are 9 point underdogs on Saturday night, but I like and expect them to win outright.

Adam Schefter tweeted, “They shouldn’t just give Alex Smith the comeback player award, they should name it after him.” The fact that Alex Smith is able to compete at a high level in the NFL and make the playoffs shows how well he handles adversity and how much he didn’t want to end his career after the gruesome leg injury he endured.

Alex Smith only played 1/2 the season. Ron Rivera was diagnosed with skin cancer and still coached the Football Team to the playoffs. Antonio Gibson missed 2 important games this year, and Dwayne Haskins put the entire team at risk when he went to a nightclub without a mask. This season for the Football Team has been a rollercoaster to say the least.

Why the Football Team will win outright versus the Buccaneers:

With Alex Smith starting they are 5-1 and they are 2-8 with backup QB’s this year. The Buccaneers will be without Mike Evans which is huge considering he is their number 1 receiver. Also three of the Buccaneers linebackers are questionable to play on Saturday. The Football Team has the second best defense in the NFL this year, statistically. Also, Brady is 1-3 vs the NFC East in the postseason (which is the worst record for Brady against any division). Brady is 43 years old, he is still the GOAT, but he will not even make it out of the first round this year. Chase Young is young and hungry I am excited to see the Football Team shock the world.

Lastly, 59% of the public likes the Buccaneers to cover and 65% of the public likes Buccaneers ML. Those statistics give me full confidence to ride the Football Team ML on Saturday (+310).
