Jets Offseason needs for 2021

Current cap space: $63, 475, 814

Team needs: three offensive lineman, TE, two WRs, pass rusher, LBs, RB, secondary

They don’t need to resign any free agents from last year. They can spend their money on better free agents.

Trade CJ Mosley (LB) and Connor McGovern (C) to free up even more cap space and allow the Jets to go after premier free agents. Potential trades: Connor McGovern to Patriots for 6th round pick (173). CJ Mosley to Broncos for 4th round pick (104), 7th round pick (201), and 7th round pick (216).

First 4 round mock draft:

Round 1: Devonta Smith WR Alabama (2nd). Sami Cosmi OT Texas (23rd)

Round 2: Travis Etienne RB Clemson (34th)

Round 3: Dayo Odeyingbo DE Vanderbilt (66th). Paddy Fisher LB Northwestern (86th).

Round 4: Elijah Molden CB Washington (97th). Jared Goldwire OG Louisville (potential trade with Broncos 104).

Free agent signings

Matt Judon LB 4 years 62 million

Patrick Peterson CB 3 years 31 million

Corey Linsley C 3 years 29 million

Mike Iupati OG 2 years 9 million

James White RB 2 years 6 million

Hunter Henry TE 4 years 40 million

Karl Joseph SS 4 years 32 million

Marcus Williams FS 5 years 47 million

Late rounds mock draft:

Round 5: Ihmir Smith-Marsette WR Iowa (130th). Creed Humphrey C Oklahoma (138th).

Round 6: Marco Wilson CB Florida (162nd)

Potential trade with Broncos gets them two 7th round picks.

Round 7: Jose Borregales K Miami (201st). Sam Ehlinger QB Texas (216th).

2021 Depth Chart if the Jets follow my advice:

QB: Sam Darnold, Sam Ehlinger, James Morgan

RB: Travis Etienne, James White, Josh Adams, La’Mical Perine, Ty Johnson

WR: Devonta Smith, Jamison Crowder, Denzel Mims, Ihmir Smith-Marsette, Braxton Berrios

TE: Hunter Henry, Chris Herndon, Ryan Griffin

LT: Mekhi Becton, Connor McDermott
LG: Mike Iupati, Pat Elfein

C: Corey Linsley, Jimmy Murray

RG: Jared Goldwire, Cameron Clark

RT: Samuel Cosmi, George Fant

DL: Henry Anderson, Dayo Odeyingbo, Jabari Zuniga, Folorunso Fatukasi, Nathan Shepard

LB: Matt Judon, Paddy Fisher, Frankie Luvu, Neville Hewitt, Tarell Basham, Bryce Hager

CB: Patrick Peterson, Bryce Hall, Marco Wilson, Elijah Molden

SS: Karl Joseph, Arthur Maulet

FS: Marcus Williams

K: Jose Borregales, Sam Ficken

P: Braden Mann

This team is a lot better on paper than last years Jets team. The only thing they would need to add is maybe another impact WR and a backup FS. Besides that, the Jets will be a young team next year with a lot of potential, we can only hope the GM makes good use out of the plethora of draft picks.
