Teams are considering trading up to draft a quarterback in the top 10 this year. Just ask the Philadelphia Eagles; sometimes, trading up in the draft for a quarterback does not work out. Various mock drafts have Kellen Mond going in the 3rd round of the 2021 NFL Draft, but he might be the 6th best quarterback of this draft class. CBSsports.com has Kellen Mond ranked as the 9th best quarterback and the 141st best prospect in this year’s draft class. I know that is way too low, and teams should start paying more attention to Kellen Mond. For teams like the Football Team, Steelers, and Patriots, instead of trading up in the first round, they can get a great player in Mond in the late 2nd or early 3rd round.
Let’s take a look at why Kellen Mond is the most underrated QB in the draft, in my opinion.
In 2020 Mond led the Aggies to a 9-1 record. Mond is a great dual-threat quarterback. In 2020 he threw 2,282 yards with 23 TD’s (19 passing, four rushing) and only 3 INT. He also had a 63.3% Completion % and a 146.9 QBRTG. We also cannot forget Mond’s senior bowl performance in 2021 (13/25 173 passing yards and two touchdowns). Kellen Mond also won the Senior Bowl MVP!
