The main weak spot in their team is the quarterback position. I love Taylor Heinkie and Ryan Fitzpatrick, but if they trade for one of the QB’s on the market they will go from a potential playoff team to an immediate super bowl contender.
Obviously, the dream would be Deshaun Watson or Aaron Rodgers. However the trade I am envisioning will make them super bowl contenders without having to give up multiple 1st round picks and other assets.
Hypothetical trade:
Jimmy Garoppolo for a 2nd round pick in 2022 and 4th round pick in 2022
Jimmy G has already made a super bowl with the 49ers. He is 29 years old. Yes, he has had injury concerns but for a 2nd & 4th it is worth the investment. The 49ers will be more willing to give up Jimmy G now that they have invested their future in Trey Lance out of North Dakota State.

The WFT has a top 3 defense in the NFL and had a very successful offseason by adding depth at much needed positions.
Free agent additions:
Curtis Samuel WR 3 year $34.5 million. Solid WR2, he is also reuniting with Ron Rivera from their time with the Carolina Panthers.
William Jackson CB 3 year $42 million. True number 1 corner to pair with Kendall Fuller and arguably the best CB in FA.
Adam Humphries WR 1 year. Good slot receiver and helps their struggling WR unit from last year.
Draft:
1st round- Jamin Davis LB Kentucky. Helps struggling linebacker unit, will immediately plug in and make an impact.
2nd round- Sam Cosmi OT Texas. One of the more premier offensive lineman in the draft and has made significant strides with his time at Texas. This pick improves the OL depth.
